Meta One Charges Indian Businesses Up to ₹20,990 a Month. Most Should Pay Nothing.
Meta One's business plans launched in India on 16 September 2026 at ₹639, ₹2,099, ₹6,399 and ₹20,990 a month. The ₹639 tier sells the same verified badge and impersonation protection Meta Verified sold Indian businesses at the same ₹639 in July 2024. Meta has not said any tier changes how your ads are delivered, and the verification that matters for ads needs no subscription. Pay ₹639 only if someone is impersonating your brand. Test ₹2,099 for one month only if you sell from organic Reels. Skip Expert and Max until Meta publishes what "more Business Agent capacity" means in numbers.
If you run a business account on Instagram or Facebook, the prompt has probably already appeared. Meta launched Meta One worldwide on 15 September, and Indian pricing followed a day later: four plans for creators and businesses, from ₹639 to ₹20,990 a month.
The question for most Indian small businesses is not which plan to buy. It is whether any of them moves the numbers you already pay for — enquiries, orders, bookings, repeat customers. For a business that gets its customers from ads, the answer is mostly no. For two specific kinds of business, it is yes, and it is cheap.
Every price and feature below comes from Meta's own announcements, Meta's Help Centre, or Indian coverage of the India launch. Where a number comes from a vendor rather than Meta, the post says so. Links are at the bottom.
01 What does Meta One cost a business in India?
Meta One has three layers: single-app plans such as WhatsApp Plus, bundles for individuals, and four bundles for creators and businesses. Only the last four matter here. Meta published US prices and features on 15 September; Indian prices were reported on 16 September.
| Plan | India, per month | US, per month | India as % of US |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | ₹639 | $14.99 | 44% |
| Advanced | ₹2,099 | $49.99 | 44% |
| Expert | ₹6,399 | $149 | 45% |
| Max | ₹20,990 | $499 | 44% |
Sources: Meta Newsroom, "Introducing Meta One", 15 September 2026 (US prices and features); Marketing Mind and TelecomTalk, 16 September 2026 (India prices); US dollar converted at ₹95.96, the Federal Reserve H.10 rate for 16 September 2026. Percentages ours.
Here is what Meta says each plan includes, in its own words where the wording matters:
- Essential: a verified badge, impersonation protection once you pass Meta's verification, a verified channel on the WhatsApp Business app, "more access" to Meta Business Agent, and unspecified "tools to manage your presence".
- Advanced: everything in Essential, plus scheduling Stories up to 30 days ahead, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience insights, team access without sharing a password, more WhatsApp linked devices and broadcast credits, and "even more" Business Agent responses.
- Expert and Max: "our highest levels of feature access and Meta Business Agent capacity for teams managing at scale." Nothing more specific.
India pays roughly 44% of the US price at every tier. At the US price, Essential would cost ₹1,438 and Max ₹47,884. So the rupee prices are already discounted, and that is a fair point in Meta's favour.
Two things in Meta's own wording should slow you down before you pay. Every business price is listed as "starting at". And Meta's fine print says plans, benefits, pricing and availability "may vary by region, by app, and by account" — to see what your account actually gets, you have to start the checkout.
Max costs ₹2,51,880 a year. Meta has not published a single number for what the extra ₹20,351 a month over Essential buys.
02 Is Meta One just Meta Verified with a new name?
Meta's launch post does not say so. It does not mention Meta Verified at all. But put Meta's July 2024 India announcement next to this month's, and the pricing and structure are hard to tell apart.
| India pricing | Meta Verified, July 2024 | Meta One, Sept 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | ₹639 a month, one app | ₹639 a month, Essential |
| Top price | Up to ₹21,000 (12-month introductory, two apps); ₹30,000 standard | ₹20,990, Max |
| Number of tiers | Four: Standard, Plus, Premium, Max | Four: Essential, Advanced, Expert, Max |
| Core of every tier | Verified badge, account support, impersonation protection | Verified badge, impersonation protection, Business Agent access |
| Links in Reels | More links as you move up the plans | Links in organic posts and Reels from Advanced |
| AI agent | None | "More" at every tier, with no number attached |
Sources: Meta Newsroom, "Launching Meta Verified Subscription Plans For Businesses on Instagram and Facebook in India", 19 July 2024; Meta Newsroom, "Introducing Meta One", 15 September 2026.
Same entry price to the rupee. A top tier ₹10 below the old introductory ceiling. Four tiers again, with the badge and impersonation protection at the base again. Even links in Reels, which the Advanced plan now presents as a publishing feature, were already part of Meta Verified in 2024: Meta said then that businesses could "add more links in their Reels" as they moved up the plans.
What is new is the AI. Meta Business Agent — Meta's own agent answering customers on your behalf — appears in every tier, and it is the only thing that clearly scales from ₹639 to ₹20,990.
One thing has gone quiet. In 2024 Meta called enhanced account support "a key part of all offerings", from chat and email up to dedicated case monitoring. The Meta One announcement does not mention account support once. If a human at Meta answering your ticket is the reason you would pay, confirm it is in the plan before you subscribe.
In May, when Meta launched its first consumer subscriptions, TechCrunch reported that the new plans "don't replace" Meta Verified. Meta's September post says nothing about what happens to an existing Meta Verified subscription. If you already pay for one, check your billing before you add another.
Same ₹639 entry price as 2024. Same four tiers. The new part is an AI agent allowance Meta will not put a number on.
03 Does paying for Meta One help your ads?
Meta has not said that any Meta One plan changes ad delivery, auction outcomes or costs. There is nothing in the September announcement about ads at all.
This matters because two different things at Meta are called verification, and they are easy to mix up — especially when someone is selling you one of them.
Advertiser verification is an identity check inside the ads system. Meta says it may require it depending on where you run ads, your history with its rules and how abuse-prone your category is. On 11 March 2026 Meta said it was expanding it so that verified advertisers drive 90% of its ad revenue by the end of 2026, up from 70%. That is the verification that affects your advertising, and it does not come with a monthly fee.
The Meta One badge is a paid mark on your profile. It tells customers you are who you say you are. Meta has published nothing linking it to ad performance.
The verification that matters for your ads needs no subscription. The one Meta is selling you is a badge.
Where the badge does earn its fee is impersonation. In the same March announcement, Meta said it banned more than 12.1 million pieces of ad content in India in 2025 for violating its fraud, scam and deceptive-practice policies, and that it now uses AI to catch accounts that impersonate brands and pages built to mimic real ones. If fake pages are using your name to take orders or payments, ₹639 a month for impersonation protection and a badge customers can check is the cheapest line in your marketing budget. If nobody is copying you, it is a vanity mark.
04 What does ₹2,099 a month buy that you can't get free?
Advanced is the plan most small businesses will be tempted by, because the feature list reads like a social media manager's wish list. Take it feature by feature.
| Advanced feature | What you already get free | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Schedule Stories up to 30 days ahead | Meta Business Suite already schedules posts, Stories and Reels | Only the 30-day window is new. Skip. |
| Links in organic posts and Reels | Nothing equivalent for ordinary accounts; caption links are not clickable | The one feature worth testing |
| Exportable analytics, deeper audience insights | Business Suite insights, GA4 and tagged links | Marginal for most SMBs |
| Team access without sharing a password | A business portfolio already assigns people to Pages and Instagram accounts | Check what it covers that your portfolio doesn't |
| More WhatsApp linked devices and broadcast credits | The limits of the free WhatsApp Business app | Useful if you have outgrown the app but not moved to the Platform |
| More Meta Business Agent responses | Per-token billing on the WhatsApp Business Platform | Cannot be valued: no number published |
Sources: Meta Newsroom, "Introducing Meta One", 15 September 2026; Meta Business Help Centre, "Schedule Facebook and Instagram content on Meta Business Suite mobile app", retrieved 26 September 2026.
That leaves links. Clickable links in organic posts and Reels change what an organic post can do: it can send someone straight to a product page instead of to "link in bio". For a business that already gets real traffic from Reels, that is worth something.
How much depends on how many links you get, and Meta has not published that either. ReelDrop, a vendor that sells Reels tools, reports four Reel links and four post links a month on Advanced. If that is right, each link costs you about ₹262. The cleaner way to think about it is orders: if you make ₹500 of gross margin on an average order, Advanced has to bring in five extra orders a month just to pay for itself. Max has to bring in 42.
At ₹500 margin an order, Advanced breaks even at five extra orders a month. Max needs 42.
For comparison, ₹2,099 a month is about ₹70 a day, which is a small but workable daily budget for a single retargeting ad set. For most businesses the question is not whether Advanced is useful. It is whether it beats spending the same money on ads you can already measure.
05 Should anyone pay ₹6,399 or ₹20,990 for Expert or Max?
Not yet. The one-sentence description quoted above is all Meta has published about either plan. No response counts, no seat counts, no link counts.
The only thing that clearly grows between Essential and Max is Meta Business Agent capacity, and that is exactly the thing you cannot value without a number. On the WhatsApp Business Platform, Meta prices Business Agent per token. As we worked out in our post on WhatsApp's October pricing, that comes to roughly ₹3.82 to ₹4.78 per message. If Max included enough agent responses, it could be cheaper than paying per token. If it did not, it would be ₹20,990 on top. Meta has not said how Meta One's allowances relate to Platform billing at all.
SleekFlow, a WhatsApp solution provider, makes a related point: Meta One adds features to the WhatsApp Business app, but it does not turn the app into the multi-agent Platform. If your team shares one number across several people and a CRM, that decision still has to be made separately.
₹20,990 a month for an allowance Meta won't disclose is not a pricing decision. It's a guess.
Four things cut against this post, and a founder deciding this should weigh them.
First, impersonation in India is not rare. 12.1 million pieces of ad content were banned in India in 2025 for fraud and deceptive practices, by Meta's own count. Brand impersonation is one of the patterns Meta says it now hunts with AI. For a D2C brand that has had customers cheated by a fake page, ₹639 a month is trivial.
Second, organic reach may be heading behind a paywall. When Meta tested these business plans in May, TechCrunch reported the Advanced plan included being featured in the Facebook feed and appearing "higher in Facebook and Instagram search results". The September announcement does not list either. If they come back, the free tier competes for organic visibility at a disadvantage, and ₹2,099 stops being optional for businesses that live on organic.
Third, clickable links in organic Reels are a real change for businesses that sell from content. Nobody outside Meta has published conversion data on them yet, and neither have we. This post's verdict rests on Meta's feature list and pricing, not on a measured test.
Fourth, the India discount is real. Every tier costs about 44% of the US dollar price. If Meta One is worth it anywhere, it is cheaper to find out here.
06 Which Meta One plan should your business actually buy?
| If you are… | Buy | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A clinic, coaching centre, real-estate or service business getting leads from ads | Nothing | No plan changes ad delivery. Finish advertiser verification when Ads Manager asks for it. |
| A D2C brand with fake pages or scam DMs using your name | Essential, ₹639 | Impersonation protection and a badge customers can check |
| A creator-led brand that sells from organic Reels | Advanced, ₹2,099, for one month | Clickable links are the one feature you cannot get free. Measure it. |
| Running customer support on the WhatsApp Business app at volume | Wait | No Business Agent quota published. Compare with per-token pricing when there is one. |
| Already paying for Meta Verified | Check billing first | Meta has not published how existing subscriptions carry over |
| Anyone considering Expert or Max | Not yet | Meta's description has no numbers in it |
Recommendations ours, based on Meta's published plan descriptions as of 26 September 2026.
07 How do you test Meta One without wasting a month?
If you fall into one of the "buy" rows above, treat it like any other marketing spend: a baseline, a test period and a cancel rule decided in advance.
- Do the free things first. Complete business verification in your business portfolio, and advertiser verification if Ads Manager asks for it. Neither needs Meta One.
- Record a 30-day baseline. Profile visits, website clicks from Instagram, sessions from Instagram in GA4, WhatsApp chats started, orders.
- Buy the cheapest plan that has the feature you are testing, and read the checkout screen. Meta says features vary by account, so confirm what yours actually includes.
- Tag every link you add to a post or Reel, for example
?utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=meta_one_test, so GA4 can separate it from everything else. - At day 30, compare gross margin from tagged orders against the fee. If it does not cover the fee, cancel. Do not stay subscribed because the badge looks nice.
- Do not fund it by cutting ad budget unless the test says it earns more per rupee than your ads do.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Meta One cost for a business in India?
Meta One's creator and business plans launched in India on 16 September 2026 at ₹639 a month for Essential, ₹2,099 for Advanced, ₹6,399 for Expert and ₹20,990 for Max. That is roughly 44% of the US dollar price at every tier. Meta lists every business price as a starting price and says plans and pricing may vary by region, app and account.
Is Meta One the same as Meta Verified?
Not officially, but the entry tier is built the same way. Meta Verified for businesses launched in India in July 2024 at ₹639 a month with a verified badge, account support and impersonation protection across four tiers. Meta One Essential costs the same ₹639 and leads with the same badge and impersonation protection. What Meta One adds is Meta Business Agent capacity, WhatsApp features and links in organic posts. Meta's launch post does not mention Meta Verified or explain how existing subscriptions carry over.
Does Meta One improve Facebook or Instagram ad performance?
Meta has not said that any Meta One plan changes how ads are delivered, how they perform in the auction or what they cost. The verification that matters for advertising is advertiser verification, which sits in the ads system and needs no subscription. Meta says it wants verified advertisers to drive 90% of its ad revenue by the end of 2026, up from 70%.
Which Meta One features can a business already get for free?
Meta Business Suite already schedules posts, Stories and Reels for Facebook and Instagram, and a business portfolio already gives team members access without sharing a password. The Meta Ad Library shows any competitor's live ads, and GA4 with tagged links covers most traffic reporting. What you cannot get free is clickable links in organic posts, impersonation protection and extra Meta Business Agent capacity.
How many Meta Business Agent responses does each Meta One plan include?
Meta has not published a number for any plan. Essential offers more access to Meta Business Agent, Advanced offers even more responses, and Expert and Max offer the highest capacity. Without those numbers you cannot compare a plan with the WhatsApp Business Platform's per-token pricing, which works out to roughly ₹3.82 to ₹4.78 per Business Agent message.
Is Meta One worth it for a small business in India?
For most small businesses that get customers from ads, no. Essential at ₹639 is worth it if someone is impersonating your brand. Advanced at ₹2,099 is worth a one-month test if you sell from organic Reels and clickable links could bring in enough extra orders to cover the fee. Expert and Max cannot be judged until Meta publishes what they include.
Will Meta One subscribers get more organic reach?
Meta has not said so. When Meta tested its business plans in May 2026, TechCrunch reported that the Advanced plan included being featured in the Facebook feed and appearing higher in Facebook and Instagram search results. Meta's September launch announcement does not list either feature.
